1. A Perth man who travelled on the Diamond Princess cruise ship has become the first Australian to die from the COVID-19 coronavirus.

2. As coronavirus spreads rapidly through Europe, France has announced the closure of the world famous Louvre, and the UK has implemented a "social distancing" policy to limit the spread of the virus.

3. The ASX is expecting to crumble as markets prepare for the worst, with Iran, Italy and South Korea joining the 'travel-black list'. Markets are now depending on the support of the central bank.

4. The NSW treasury predicts that, with the combined impact of the bushfires and coronavirus, the economic growth of the state will drop between one to two thirds of a percentage point this financial year.

5. Following one of the worst drops since the global financial crisis last week, Wall Street is also preparing for worse, but numbers have increased since last week. Today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index was down 1.39% to 25,409.36, S&P 500 was down 0.82% to 2,954.22, and Nasdaq was up 0.010% to 8,567.37.
