1. The coronavirus has officially killed over 2700 people and infected more than 80,000 so far, with new cases being confirmed in Greece, and Brazil awaiting the results of a woman who recently returned from Milan making it the first case in Latin America. Italy is officially the most impacted country in Europe, with 400 cases and 12 deaths, and Iran has the most deaths outside of China, with a speculated 50 deaths being hidden.

2. Disney's CEO Bob Iger stepped down immediately to chariman on Tuesday, and Bob Chapek, who was the chairman of Disney's parks, experiences and products business, is now CEO. Iger steered the company in adapting Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel, Fox and Disney+. Experts believe the change in leadership "makes sense" as Disney is transitioning to direct streaming with their consumers through Disney+.

3. Wall Street has been labelled "volatile" by the AFR, with inconsistent highs and lows setting up an unpredictable market and the coronavirus being pinned as the main cause. Meanwhile the ASX has had a consistent drop, down 27 points or 0.4% to 6628 near 8am AEDT today. The local currency dropped 0.7% to US65.56¢.

4. Maria Sharapova has announced her retirement from tennis at the age of 32. She ends her career with five major championships, a No.1 title in the WTA rankings and a 15-month doping ban, saying that her shoulder pain cannot allow her to continue competing.

5. Wall Street is back up from heavy drops over the past few days, which hadn't been this low in over 2 years. The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index was down 0.46% at 26,957.59, the S&P 500 Index dropped 0.38% at 3,116.39 and NASDAQ was up 0.17% at 8,980.77.
