1. Rail Unions refuse to call off industrial action in NSW
Rail unions are refusing to bow to NSW government demands to call off all industrial action by 5pm on Friday, warning they could ramp up measures across Sydney’s public transport network.

A day after the government gave the combined rail unions 24 hours to stop industrial action or be hauled before the courts, NSW Rail Tram and Bus Union secretary Alex Claassens said his members were not backing down.

“We have no intention of stopping our protected industrial action and the Premier shouldn’t be surprised if more industrial action is called next week,” Claassens said on Friday morning. (SMH)

2. US government allows Nvidia to develop in China despite restrictions
Nvidia said on Thursday that the US government told the company that it can continue to develop its H100 artificial intelligence chip in China.

3. Allianz stadium opens today
The newly renovated Allianz Stadium (Sydney Football Stadium) at Moore Park, costing some $800 million, will host its inaugural sporting events this evening starting off with the NRLW game of the Sydney Roosters vs the Dragons, followed by the age-old NRL derby of the Roosters vs the Rabbitohs.

4. Did you know?
The stars of the hit US sitcom Friends were paid $75,000 per episode in season three, $85,000 in season four, $100,000 in season five, $125,000 in season six, $750,000 in seasons seven and eight, and $1 million in seasons nine and ten, making Aniston, Cox, and Kudrow the highest paid TV actresses of all-time.

5. ASX to edge up
ASX futures were up 21 points or 0.31% to 6818 near 6.40am AEST, with the AUD -0.8% to 67.87 US cents.

On Wall St: Dow +0.5% S&P 500 +0.3% Nasdaq -0.3%.

In Europe: Stoxx 50 -1.7% FTSE -1.9% CAC -1.5% DAX -1.6%.

10-year yield: US 3.26% Australia 3.68%.
