1. NSW and federal governments set to announce support for workers and businesses
Support for workers and businesses affected by the lockdown in Sydney will be jointly funded by the federal and NSW government and include payments for workers who have lost income and businesses who commit to keeping all of their employees according to reports by the AFR and The Australian. The package could be set to be announced today.
2. Newspoll shows two-party-preferred swing against the Coalition in almost every state
Labor would pick up 9 seats at the next election and secure a majority government of 78 seats based on the latest Newspoll analysis of statewide two-party-preferred swings published by The Australian. The swing against the coalition since the 2019 election is 8.6% in Western Australia and 5.4% in Queensland.
3. Almost a third of ASX 100 CEOs received no bonus in 2020
31 CEOs of ASX 100 companies received no annual bonus in 2020, which is twice as many as in 2019 and the most on record, the AFR reported. Alan Joyce from Qantas and Brad Banducci from Woolworths were among those who did not receive an annual bonus last year.
4. Mario video game breaks record with $2 million sale
An unopened copy of the 1996 video game Super Mario 64 has sold for US$1.56 million ($2.09 million) at auction, the most money ever paid for a single video game. The previous record was set only two days earlier with an unopened copy of The Legend of Zelda selling for US$870,000 ($1.17 million).

On Monday in the US, the Dow Jones rose by 126.02 points or 0.36% to 34,996.18, the S&P 500 gained 15.08 points or 0.35% to 4,384.63, another new record for the index, and the Nasdaq moved 31.32 points or 0.21% higher to 14,733.24.
