1. MCG among latest Victorian COVID-19 exposure sites

The Victorian Department of Health said a positive COVID-19 case attended last Sunday's Collingwood v Port Adelaide game at the MCG and that attendees sitting in the same zone would be contacted directly with advice to get tested and isolate until a negative test result is received. The Victorian cluster has grown to nine cases.

2. NAB and Finance Sector Union head to court over staff underpayment

The Finance Sector Union's state secretary for Queensland Wendy Streets has told The Australian that the union is preparing to lodge Federal Court proceedings against National Australia Bank over underpayment of full-time employees. $55 million has already been paid to current and former part-time employees, and the bank has provisioned $128 million for payroll remediation, however Streets said compensation could potentially reach hundreds of millions of dollars.

3. Biden and Putin to meet in Geneva

US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Geneva, Switzerland next month as part of Biden's first international trip as President. The meeting will take place following the G7 summit in the UK and a NATO summit in Brussels.

4. $37.5 million purple-pink diamond sets auction record

'The Sakura', a 15.81-carat purple-pink diamond named after the Japanese word for cherry blossom, has sold for more than HK$226 million ($37.5 million) at Christie's Hong Kong, setting a new record for the largest diamond of its kind to be sold. "The strong sell-through rates and exceptional prices achieved for top-quality colored diamonds and gemstones reflect a robust market demand," said Vickie Sek, the chairman of Christie’s Asia Pacific department of jewelry.

5. Dow and S&P 500 fall 0.2%

Both the Dow Jones and S&P 500 had similar losses on Tuesday following on from Monday's positive session. The Dow fell by 81.52 points or 0.24% to 34,312.46 while the S&P 500 dropped 8.92 points or 0.21% to 4,188.13. The Nasdaq had a flat day, ending down 4.00 points or 0.03% to 13,657.17.
