1. Funding boost for aged care
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is set to announce $1 billion of extra funding for aged care in the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) on Thursday, including 10,000 new home care packages at a cost of $850 million. "By providing more support to people at home, we are ensuring that Australians, as they age, have greater choices and their families have greater choices," Prime Minister Scott Morrison said ahead of the announcement.
2. Australia invited to 2021 G7 summit
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has invited the leaders of Australia, India and South Korea to attend the G7 summit in the UK in mid-2021. Downing Street said the three countries were invited as part of Boris Johnson's "ambition to work with a group of like-minded democracies to advance shared interests and tackle common challenges."
3. Over 70s to receive vaccine first
People aged over 70 will be the first in Australia to receive the COVID-19 vaccine after healthcare and aged care workers according to a report by The Herald Sun on the federal government's vaccination strategy. The vaccine will then reportedly roll out in descending age brackets, with Australians under 18 not expected to be vaccinated in 2021.

5. Wall Street improves on Tuesday
The Dow Jones and S&P 500 have regained and improved on Monday's losses while the Nasdaq has continued its upwards trend to another record high. The Dow moved 337.76 points or 1.13% higher to 30,199.31, the S&P rose by 47.13 points or 1.29% to 3,694.62 and the Nasdaq gained 155.02 points or 1.25% to 12,595.06.
