1. Australia's predicted economic drop has contracted from 6.7% to 4.5% according to the IMF's latest world outlook. The global economy is set to drop deeper-than-expected with a 4.9% plunge in global economic activity expected in 2020. This figure is 1.9% lower than previously forecasted. Australia is forecasted as one of the world's best performers.

2. Qantas is reassessing its financial position ahead of June 30. Shares have been halted ahead of market open, with a capital raising pending. The airline announced it is completing a share purchase plan and shares will return to trade tomorrow.

3. Tech stocks have shown their class since March, with the ASX tech index up 83% since its March lows and the Nasdaq up 48%. Afterpay, Kogan, PayPal, Xero, Pushpay, Shopify and Atlassian have been some of the winners that have surged since March.

4. The US Fed announced in March that they could provide $2.3 trillion to the economy, but so far have only put forward $143 billion. Experts have said this is because the US economy is recovering better than expected.

5. The ASX is set to plunge after Wall Street had a big market sell-off as virus cases surged in the US again. The Dow dropped 2.72% to 25,445.94. The S&P 500 fell 2.59% to 3,050.33 and Nasdaq dropped 2.19% to 9,909.17, falling below its 10,000 record high this week.
