1. Stocks had their worst day in the US since March, overnight, as the Dow plunged more than 1800 points on Thursday. The drop has been credited to an increase in COVID-19 cases in certain US states as they reopen from social lockdowns.

2. There are 9 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Australia today, 8 in Victoria and 1 in QLD. Australia now has 412 active cases of COVID-19.

3. The five most valuable tech stocks lost more than $269 billion in Thursdays Wall Street drop. Apple dropped 4.8%, Alphabet closed 4.29% lower, Facebook and Microsoft fell more than 5% and Amazon dropped 3.38%.

4. Australian tech stocks also fell on Thursday, with ZEET stocks taking a hit. Zip Co dropped 3.26% yesterday, EML fell 6.71%, ELMO dropped 4.66% sliding off a near-four month high, and Tyro closing at 4.18.

5. The Dow fell 6.90% closing at 25,128.17, the S&P 500 fell 5.89% to 3,002.10 and Nasdaq dropped 5.27% to 9,492.73.
