1. Virgin Australia is in negotiations between Cyrus Capital Partners and Bain Capital who have until June 12 to make binding offers for the airline.

2. The GDP for the first quarter will be released today.

3. The Australian ambassador to the United States, Arthur Sinodinos, is investigating an attack of two Australian journalists by police in the US. The Channel 7 crew were attacked by police officers while reporting on the protests outside the White House.

4. NSW has reported 6 more COVID-19 cases yesterday. Victoria had 10 and Queensland had 1. The total number of active cases reported in Australia is now 494.

5. Despite chaos in the US, Wall Street has remained notably unscathed. The Dow closed on a high of 1.05% to 25,742.65, the S&P 500 was up 0.82% to 3,080.82 and Nasdaq was up 0.59% to 9,608.38.
