1. A National Cabinet meeting will go ahead today, seeking to unify the message between state and federal governments about schools returning to face-to-face learning as term two is set to commence on April 27.

2. The latest unemployment levels in Australia will be released later today, with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg saying the figures are in line with market median expectations of 5.4 per cent, despite speculations yesterday that unemployment levels will exceed 10 per cent. The Treasurer clarified: "the data was assembled in the middle of March so it doesn't take into account longer unemployment lines."

3. Countries around the world are discussing lifting some isolation measures, which prompted the European Union to release a statement advising countries around the world to ensure lifting measures are gradual and we "don't all return to work at once".

4. Health advocates are alarmed by the spike in Australia's drinking habits during COVID-19 lockdowns, with 70% of people drinking more than normal and 1/3 consuming alcohol every day.

5. The ASX is set to dive this morning, after the Dow closed down 1.86% to 23,504.35, the S&P 500 dropped 2.20% to 2,783.36 and Nasdaq dropped 1.44% to 8,393.18.
