A word to our viewers, subscribers and readers of Switzer about a particular scam we've seen doing the rounds.

Recently we’ve heard from some of you that you’ve been receiving messages purporting to be from a woman named “Evelyn”.

Potentially she’ll reach out about personally helping you with a trade or a 1 on 1 appointment or something else unique to your circumstances. Sometimes she will even send photos of herself to try and convince you that she’s legitimate.

I’m here to tell you, in no uncertain terms, that this is a scam being run by individuals looking to trick you out of your money. And it’s not the first time it has been spotted in the wild.

This so-called Evelyn has contacted individuals all over the world about potential job offers, apartment offers, financial opportunities and more.

Recently, "Evelyn" says she "represents" either Peter Switzer, the Switzer Report or other properties currently bearing the good name of Switzer.

Rest assured, Switzer will not connect with you via services like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or via SMS.

If you receive one of these scams, block the number/sender immediately and ensure you have no further contact. If you’re concerned you may be into an Evelyn scam and not sure what to do, head to the government’s ScamWatch website.

We appreciate your continued trust and we’ll continue to work together to help keep you safe.
