A striking new 13-storey mural of Kylie Minogue has taken over the heart of Melbourne, marking the countdown to her Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment performance at the Toyota AFL Grand Final.
The Princess of Pop paid a visit to the completed artwork on Flinders Street yesterday, as the city ramps up celebrations for the biggest day on the Australian sporting calendar. The mural now dominates the wall directly opposite Flinders Street Station, placing Kylie at the centre of one of Melbourne’s busiest public spaces during Grand Final week.

The landmark piece was created by Melbourne street artist Adnate in collaboration with Mushroom Creative House, with support from Telstra. It forms part of the broader celebrations surrounding both the 2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final and Kylie’s return to Melbourne.
Adnate and a small team of just two other artists completed the towering artwork in a single week, using more than 150 cans of spray paint to bring it to life.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve been able to achieve with this piece,” Adnate said. “Kylie is such a huge part of Melbourne’s cultural identity, so I wanted the artwork to celebrate her amazing career while capturing the excitement around the 2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final. This is definitely one of the most high-profile locations, of one of the most high-profile people I’ve ever painted.”
Mushroom Group Chief Executive Matt Gudinski said the mural was a fitting tribute to one of our biggest stars. “Kylie is one of the most recognisable stars this country has ever produced, the fact that she’s a proud Melburnian makes it even more special. Having her adorn this amazing mural overlooking the city is a fitting tribute, and I have no doubt her Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment performance will be one for the history books.”

Adnate is a prolific large-scale street artist, celebrated for his striking portraiture and monumental public works. His portfolio includes a famed 20-storey mural on a housing commission building in Melbourne, and the new Kylie tribute now ranks among his most ambitious projects yet, merging music, sport and the city’s world-renowned street art culture into one monumental piece.
The mural is expected to remain on display for a eight weeks, giving locals and visitors opportunity to take in the artwork beyond Grand Final day.
