Stocks in the US finished higher on Wednesday after a late surge in trading took all three indexes into positive territory.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 90 points or 1.2%, to 7,749.81. The Nasdaq gained 45.85 points or 0.8%, to 45.85. The S&P 500 added 7.63 points to 813.88. The S&P 500 has gained over 20% in the past two-weeks.
The US economy got some better-than-expected data on Wednesday with rises in new home sales and durable goods orders. Despite heading into the red during the day, a late-session jump in financial stocks and tech shares helped markets finish higher.
